The biennial Australian Antarctic Festival is on again in 2020, and organisers have announced tentative dates: 29 July to 3 August, 2020. The festival program will include school visits on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and then open to the general public on Saturday and Sunday. It’s a particularly exciting year, as the festival will coincide with two major Antarctic conferences in Hobart – the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) and the Council of Managers of National Antarctic Programs (COMNAP) conference. These prestigious events draw Antarctic scientists and national delegates from around the world to the Antarctic gateway city of Hobart.
