Farewell the Aurora Australis

After almost 30 years of good and faithful service, it is time for the ‘Big Orange Taxi’ to be replaced by a new state-of-the-art icebreaker, RSV Nuyina, which is due to arrive in Hobart in 2020.

Although the Aurora Australis may be leaving, many memories will linger; of sad dock-side farewells, adventures in the Southern Ocean, of inspiring school trips, the beauty of the Antarctic coastline and happy reunions on the Hobart wharf.  And we would love to capture those memories below.

Record your own memory of the Aurora Australis for a chance to win a double pass and a farewell tour of the beloved icebreaker at Princes Wharf.  What we are looking for are funny and positive anecdotes of up to 200 words.

For your chance to win, simply enter your submissions below.
